I don’t know about you but my work space can get pretty messy! I usually have a pacifier, an old coffee mug, business cards everywhere, and a sippy cup or two surrounding my computer where I work. How can I get work done if my space is a disaster? I am not the most organized person, but if there is a lot of clutter around me I can’t seem to focus to get my work done. Does anyone feel my pain??
1. Have a designated space for bills
Oh boy is this one of the hardest things to do for me. I am the kind of person that when I get the mail, I leave it on the kitchen table or really anywhere that it is not supposed to be. My husband finally got a little bin to put the bills in. Wait did I just make a rhyme? Now every time we get a bill I open it up and put the paper in the bin. We have everything in one spot so its easier to review what is due and when.
2. Have a good old fashion card holder.
You know what I’m talking about! Those super cheap note card holders that you had to get in school. It is a great and inexpensive way to hold business cards. It keeps your desk clean and organized as well as all your contacts in one spot.
3. Write all your appointments on a calendar not a free piece of paper
Writing your appointments on little sticky notes can create a lot of clutter and lets face it, you loose the piece of paper anyway! Have a calendar where you write down all your appointments, blog post schedule, and even fun activities. It keeps everything in one place. I get made fun of for my current calendar. I got it for FREE at the local fresh market haha!!! So its in Spanish and English. It was free and it serves its purpose!
4. Are you a coupon clipper? Put them in a magnetic clip on the fridge
I clip coupons but not enough to have a huge box full. I put them together with a magnetic bag clip and they go up on the fridge. They are not floating around on my desk and forgotten about. This keeps my desk clutter free and organized. I always know where they are and can go through them easier.
These 4 ways to get your work space organized are so simple and you can put to practice ASAP. No fancy organizers just good old fashion things you may have around the house.
