I don’t know how exactly, but I keep receiving this magazine issue ‘Experience Life’. The latest one had in big bold prints saying “Pursue Your Passions”. That title was very intriguing as that is something that I strive for on a daily basis. This written interview talked about how this man Matt Walker, a mountaineer and author, explained his journey on climbing and adventure. There are five principles he called “the elements of adventure”
1. Seek the highest endeavors
2. Embrace uncertainty
3. Fully commit
4. Tolerate adverse situations
5. Seek great companionship
He explains these are all lessons he has learned from climbing, but he also applies it to life. By using these five elements to pursue a more adventure-filled life you can accomplish much more! This statement really jumped out at me…
“Being fully engaged has a really different feel to it than being a passive participant. And that’s what real adventure is all about.”
If you find happiness and fulfillment in what you do, then keep doing it! Integrating all the different aspect of your life – work, community, family, physical health and spirituality bring the upmost satisfaction and joy. Reading this interview truly blessed me. I hope you can apply these bullet points to EVERY aspect of your life. Adventure awaits!
