Since it is throwback thursday, I thought I would spice it up Mompreneur Style and share some throwback Mommy in business stories and pics.
So this one time at band camp…..
Just kidding! Ok here is the story on this Throwback Thursday.
My last company, we were preparing for a local event that was supposed to be HUGE! I couldn’t find a sitter for my son so we just brought him with us. As we packed him in the car for the almost hour trip to the event we were excited to go to this “launch” party especially because we had guests coming with us AND super excited business partners!
Now keep in mind I was about 4 months pregnant and my son was about 18 months. He did GREAT during the presentation and afterwards they had a mingle session with a DJ. Jaylen was super cute as he was dancing around and we even made a request for the DJ to play his favorite song, Earth Wind And Fire’s Lets Groove Tonight.
Here comes the puke!
They had samples of some of their products which included a cookie. What we did not know was this cookie had peanuts in it and my son is allergic to peanuts!
He ate some of this cookie and within a minute or two he was vomiting everywhere! If you know anything about an allergic reaction it isn’t just the fact that he is was having a hard time throwing up because his throat closed off a bit, but it was really thick so he was almost choking on it. (TMI??) This gets me to spring into action and bring him to a garbage can and help him. Everyone in the place was just staring at him and me!! After he was done puking we left in such a hurry to get him home and in the tub because it was EVERYWHERE!
Needless to say that was the last time we took him to an event, and we found out he is allergic to peanuts. So I tell you all of this why?? Because as a Mom in business it is not all roses all the time. There are things that happen out of your control.
This Throwback Thursday story is dedicated to all you Moms in business making it work everyday. Even through the tough, the good and the pukey times!
