Today, as I sit here and think of being a WAHM (Work at home Mom) it dawned on me that I am a pretty good multi-tasker! I caught myself coming up with amazing promotional content for my client, while I was cooking lunch, while having an apple crisp in the oven AND babysitting. I had 3 kids here in the house today, yet I was able to still get things done. I scheduled more of my client’s social media and put some finishing touches on my blogging course. How can I get so much done even before 5:00pm??
It is about multi-tasking, but having a purpose for what you are doing. I would not have been able to get those things done if I was just browsing through the never ending Facebook feed just to see what folks are up to. I am definitely guilty of doing that though! I knew what tasks that I needed to complete today, so it made it easier to multi-task.
Being a Mom you almost have to get great at multi-tasking. Now, I am not talking about working on 3 business projects at once, but I am talking about integrating your personal life and duties as a Mom with your business. That is how you feel complete at the end of the day. This is how my multi-tasking went:
-Notepad on the countertop complete with pen so I could easily write down content ideas.
-Laptop on kitchen countertop to type when needed
-Stir, stir, stir the mac n cheese
-Kid needs water, fill up water bottle LOL
-Back to typing on the computer
-Sit down and read a book to the kiddos
-Back to the computer to finishing typing
If you can’t tell, my office today was set up in the kitchen. Ha! I went from typing on the computer, to tending to my family. That is how I work EVERYDAY. That is how you have the best of both worlds. Motherhood and Entrepreneurship.
Whatever your business, just know that you CAN integrate your business with your duties as a Mom. I believe in YOU!
