It has been proven that it takes 21 days to create a habit.. good or bad. For all the recent new years resolutions the next 21 days will be crucial! This can include 21 days of going to the gym, 21 days of eating healthier, 21 days of personal development, 21 days of really anything. Now on the flip side, it can be 21 days of laziness, 21 days of procrastination… and the list can go on. The resolutions that you have made for physical, spiritual and professional will be key to move forward in that time frame. So if it takes 21 days to create a healthy or non-healthy habit lets make sure we create healthy ones. After the 21 days your mind will naturally do those certain things because it has been trained over the time to do so. STARTING is the key!
1. Figure out your goal in the areas of physical, spiritual and business. For me personally I have a physical goal to drink more water during the day. Did you know that you need to drink half your body weight in ounces of water on a daily basis? Mmm… thats a lot! It can be done though! So I have to discover how much I need to drink and get it done on a daily basis. Maybe for you after the holidays you want to loose 20 pounds. What are the daily activities that you can do to arrive at that goal after the 21 days? Lets say it is walking for 30 minutes a day. Do that for 21 days and see how well you feel!
2. Be realistic! Lets say you have a business goal to be at $10,000 a month, but expect it to be done within that 21 day challenge. Have I heard of that being done, absolutely! Is it reality for everyone?? NO! First you need to create the habit of those daily activities you need to move your business forward to make that $10,000 a month. Maybe your goal is to get over your fear of talking to people about your business. Contact one person a day and after the 21 days see where you are. You have just created a habit of talking to people and you will become comfortable with it. That is duable!
3. Partner Up! This is VERY important! Don’t try this alone! It is easier to talk with someone about your progress because they won’t let you quit! Having that accountability will move you forward to achieving your goal. Find a buddy or even a group of people that want to make a change in their life and start a 21 day transformation together.
The challenge is that most of us want ‘microwave’ success. The actions that you take on a daily basis will determine where you will be over time. I am starting my 21 day challenge this coming Monday, January 9th. I have my goals in place of what I want to accomplish within that parameter and now it is about taking ACTION!
