Why is it that we feel like there are NEVER enough hours in a day to get things done as a Mompreneur?
Sometimes us Moms feel like time just gets away from us. I can literally turn around and its 4pm in the afternoon! Being an entrepreneur, I’ve had to discern which activities were productive and what were unproductive. So here are a list of the top 5 time traps we can easily find ourselves in:
*Spending hours surfing the internet. I love using the internet and social media to build my business and create connections. The problem sometimes is that it can be a time guzzler! (Is that even a word? Ha!) Give yourself a maximum time to browse through Facebook and Twitter, or check your sites twice a day. Be purposeful about your time online. Then it won’t interfere with your family or business time.
*Responding to everything immediately. The amount of emails, messages or phone calls received in one day can be overwhelming. Schedule times to reply to emails and times for phone calls. This makes it easier to get things done with your business and in the home.
*Skipping your meal planning. Plan the meals for the week so you won’t play a guessing game every night for dinner. This also makes the trips to the grocery store quicker and easier if you know what meals your making for that week. Save time on wondering what you are going to make.
*Skipping your workouts. Studies show that exercise improves your time management skills by 28%, your ability to concentrate by 26%, and your overall productivity by 25%!! So all the rumors you hear about working out is good for your overall health..its true! Scheduling your workouts in everyday will help you be more productive and feel better all around!
*Keep an ongoing written to-do list. Keeping yourself on task everyday with what needs to be done is crucial. To be honest, if I don’t write things down I’ll forget about it! An on-going written list of what needs to be accomplished with business and family will help you stay on task. Keeping that list in your head does not work. It gives the perception that you have more on your plate than you do and most likely you will forget something. So write everything down on a calendar to stay on task.

Not only is this a fantastic read, it hits the nail on the head. I’m guilty of this as well and it can be easy to stray from tasks that heavily need to be done. Great tips to prioritizing and producitfying your day!!!
