Whether your goals are big or small have you had anyone make fun of you for what you want to accomplish? Maybe you have friends/family who just don’t get what you actually do for a living. So instead of trying to understand, they put you down. How many of you that are working towards your goals have been here before or are currently going through this?
Well let me tell you I have just recently encountered this with my business. Like everyone else I have dreams and goals that I want to accomplish. Some I have already checked off the list while others I am still striving for. I have come to realize that along your journey there will be folks that JUST DON’T GET IT.
How do you plow over the negativity to stay laser focused on your goals?
Easier said than done, but here are a few things you can do..
1. Don’t ask for opinions. If you ask for opinions from those who you know have a bad attitude from the start, you will set yourself up for a disappointing conversation.
2. Map out a plan of success. When you know where you are going the path seems much more clear. Have a plan of action to reach your goals and no one can tell you differently. Success is a marathon not a sprint.
3. Feed your mind with positive, encouraging personal development. Have you ever heard that your income will never exceed your personal development? This is absolutely true! What you feed your mind you will ultimately produce. Positive thoughts and actions produce positive people. Positive people get results.
4. Realize your goals are worthy. The goals that you have for your life and your business are worthy to be achieved. There is nothing impossible for you! Those who are successful are those who can block out the negativity. So get some ear plugs because your ears are not garbage cans!
So there you have it on this chilly Friday afternoon. Now go ahead and go after those goals!

I love the one about don’t ask opinions: a lot of times someone else’s opinion goes against your gut and more often than not, the gut is right. Good list!

I’ll have to check these books out! Thank you!
So true! I love what you have said here and I believe and agree with it 100%!
I didn’t accept this lesson until I reached my 30’s… the people who give their opinions about my life and choices, whether supportive or not, didn’t die for my sins. That means that I don’t have to govern my life according to their ideas. I make sure that my life lines up with God’s word, honors my husband, and is the appropriate example for my family. That leaves no room for boosting my ego with praise, or hurting my feelings with negative comments. For me, the ultimate focus came from being free from what other people thought.
Awesome tips! Thanks for sharing

I definitely don’t ask for opinions unless I’m prepared to hear something I might not want to hear!

Great tips. I have a hard time placidly staying focused and staying straight in the ‘goal lane’. I need to spend more time doing these things to be successful at my tasks.

I definitely map out my plan of success!
I also surround myself with POSITIVE people – even if they don’t understand what I do or what my goals are – they don’t talk DOWN about them.

Yes me too!! You are one I’m happy I follow online. I love your stuff! I always say when there is a lot of negative people trying to put you down, you are probably on the right track. Lol
Love this advice Stephanie. It is so easy to give up when you’re falling short of your goal. Negative people are always the first to go from my list. I’m just glad there are so many amazing people I’ve become friends with online that have helped me achieve the success I have now.

This is such great advice. Some times you just have to cut the negative folks in your life out of your life to a degree so that they don’t keep you from your goals, dreams and happiness. To do this though you have to believe that what you want is attainable and that you deserve to reach those goals. Always great advice Steph!

Hi Stephanie!
Thanks for the great tips on staying focused. Too many times, people are affected by the comments from those around them that simply do not understand. You number 3 tips is my fav! Feed your mind with positivity…that is where the personal development is so important on a daily basis.
I wish you all the best success. You seem like a person who is crushing her goals!
Best
Lisa
